“The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.”

Meet Ekaterina (she/her):
Hi, I'm Ekaterina Kapoustina. I'm a Registered Psychotherapist and a human who is endlessly curious about what makes for great relationships. Post-graduate school, as I started working with clients, it was undeniably clear that relationships were at the root of why most people came in to therapy. Feeling disconnected happens to everyone - even those in happy and fulfilled relationships.
My life experiences and my own growth through interpersonal disconnect is what helps me relate so deeply with clients and what lead me to become the therapist I am today. I know how frustrating and lonely it is to want to strive for connection while feeling scared that others will judge you or worse, not be able to show up for you to be there with your pain.
Attachment science helped me to understand why some of us get loud and critical as we protest for someone to hear us, while others withdraw and get quite as we try to avoid losing the person who matters to us most. Martha Kauppi’s CNM Level 1 course helped me learn how to support partners in non-traditional relationship structures.
This re-sparked my desire to help other groups like therapists and related professionals to explore their own humanity and the way their work impacts their ability to be open, vulnerable, and ask for support themselves - something they are so used to doing for others day in and day out.
Being a therapist is an honour that I do not take lightly. It takes courage to reach out and speak about something so private. I am committed to helping you experience healing and transformation in yourself and your relationships, regardless their structure.
Outside of the office, I love snapping pictures of nature and wildlife, staying active by hitting the gym (or better yet traveling the world), and cozying up with a good Michael Crichton book! Currently reading - Eruption.
